Arcadia Support & Guidance Program

Arcadia Support & Guidance Program for Therapists
Stress management program for cancer patients and relatives/friends

Arcadia Support & Guidance Program for Therapist is a practical and theoretical course where you will gain clarity regarding the underlying and contributory causes of physical illness and chronic disease. You will get tools for helping others cope with life through counseling as well as mental and physical training. The method is developed for people affected by cancer and their families. We help relatives in supporting the person suffering from cancer, but also teach them the importance of taking care of themselves.

All of us, in one way or another, will be touched by cancer at some point in our lives, whether we suffer from it ourselves or it affects someone close to us, at home or at work. In Sweden, 1 out of 3 people will be affected by cancer at some time during their life. The forecast for 2030 says that one out of every two people will get cancer unless we immediately start to focus on prevention.

Too many people claim that they don’t get the support they need from general healthcare; that they aren’t being listened to. If you are a relative or a friend of someone with cancer you are basically invisible. I have met with people in crisis, and through the knowledge I have gathered working for more than 20 years as a therapist, including training with Dr. Carl Simonton, who was a pioneer in the mind-body approach, and my close collaboration with doctors at Arcadia Clinic in Germany, I want to share with you our joint experiences and knowledge.

Who is this program for?
It is for people who work as therapists and meet people in their everyday life who are affected by a life-changing disease. The program will help you gain a deeper understanding and discover a method to help your clients towards a healthier way of life.

The program in brief
The course is designed and held over 5 intense days where you and other therapists undergo basic training based on Dr. Carl Simonton´s work with cancer and relatives affected by cancer. We also take into account recent research, psycho-neuro immunology and the use of CBT and NLP. The next step is to become a certified therapist. This involves assisting during a five-day cancer program course. We will also meet for training and to exchange experiences once a year and you will be a part of Arcadia’s network of therapists throughout Scandinavia and Europe. We also focus on preventive healthcare and offer other types of stress management.
